Complete Your AP Requirement

Students on Academic Probation in the College of Engineering are held to specific requirements.  These requirements will differ by a student's cumulative GPA, class level, and academic history.  All students will receive an email stating exactly what they are required to do.  Students who fail to complete the requirements below by the deadline stated in the email, will have a hold placed on their registration. Below is a summary of the requirements engineering students on academic probation will complete:

  • Students with below a 2.0 CPSLO cumulative GPA must meet with an advisor.  To set up this appointment, contact Engineering Student Services at (805)756-1461, Building 40 Room 115.  Students in EOP or CP Scholars can meet with their specific EOP or CP Scholars advisor to fulfill this requirement.

  • Students with a 2.0-2.4 CPSLO cumulative GPA AND have been on AP 3 or more times must meet with an advisor.  To set up this appointment, contact Engineering Student Services at (805)756-1461, Building 40 Room 115. Students in EOP or CP Scholars can meet with their specific EOP or CP Scholars advisor to fulfill this requirement.

  • Students with a 2.0-2.4 CPSLO cumulative GPA AND have been on AP 1 or 2 times must attend a workshop offered by Engineering Student Services, students should check email for dates/times of worshops.  

  • Students with above a 2.4 CPSLO cumulative GPA will be enrolled in a PolyLearn workshop (accessable via the Cal Poly portal) called "Back on Track".   

    • To access the “Back on Track” Workshop:

      1. Log on to your portal: https://my.calpoly.edu 

      2. On the home tab, locate the “My Classes” portlet

      3. Click the “__ other PolyLearn Access” button

      4. Click on the “Back on Track” link

  • Students who were disqualified and had their appeal approved, will be placed on an Academic Success Contract.  These students must meet with Kim Marsalek.  To set up this appointment, contact Engineering Student Services at (805)756-1461, Building 40 Room 115.  Students in this category will then be required to submit a grade progress check and meet with an advisor as a follow-up.
