Only students who are registered at a partner university with Cal Poly can apply for the exchange program. Please contact your International Exchange Program Coordinator at your home institution to verify if your school has established exchange agreements with Cal Poly. For consideration, please contact your exchange coordinator, your school may have restrictions or conditions in order to participate in the exchange program. Moreover, your program coordinator may also require additional application material in order to qualify for the exchange. Please see your exchange coordinator for application deadlines. All of the required application materials must be received by the Engineering Advising Center on the deadlines posted:

Summer Quarter: Early July — Late August
Application Deadline: February 1st
Fall Quarter: Mid September — Early December
Application Deadline: March 15th
Winter quarter: Early January — Late of March
Application Deadline: August 1st
Spring Quarter: Early April — Early June
Application Deadline: November 1st

The required application materials include:

• A completed application (for students to study at Cal Poly)
• Certification from Applicant for Issuance of Form DS-2019 (J-1 Visa) (please include proof of funds)
• For students who are bringing spouses or children, please complete this DS-2019 Request form
• Proposed Course of Study
• Proof of Health Insurance
• Official Copy of University Transcripts
• Letter of Recommendation from a faculty member

It is strongly recommended that you look into your housing options soon after being admitted to Cal Poly.  As an international student there is limited housing available on-campus and the off-campus housing can be difficult to arrange at the last minute.
