| General Engineering Catalog Changes |
 |
These catalog changes apply to GENE students only.
- Students following the 2001-03 through 2007-09 catalogs may substitute CHEM 127 (4) + CHEM 128 (4) for CHEM 124 (4) + CHEM 125 (4) in order to allow for more flexibility based on a student's area of interest. A petition is not required.
- Transfer students following the 2001-03 through 2007-09 catalogs may substitute 3 1/2 excess units from a CHEM 124 equivalent course + 1/2 excess unit from a PHYS 131 or 141 or 132 or 133 equivalent course for CHEM 125 (4). A petition is not required.
- Students following the 2001-03 through 2007-09 catalogs can substitute STAT 542 (4) for STAT 312 (4) and receive GE B6 credit. A petition is not required.
- Students following the 2005-07 catalog (or earlier catalogs) should take PHYS 141 rather than PHYS 131. This is an automatic substitution.
-
Students following the 1992-1994 to 2003-2005 catalogs may repeat ENGR
450 (4) up to 16 units as long as the course topics are different. ENGR
550 (4) can also be repeated up to 16 units as long as the course topics
are different.
-
Students following catalogs prior to the 2003-2005 catalog who want
to select Math 318 (4) (and still need to complete it) should take Math
344 (4) -beginning Winter 2004. A petition is not required. Note: Math
318 will be offered for the last time as Math X318 during Fall 2003.
-
Students following any catalog prior to the 2003-2005 catalog (who have
not completed MATH 242 by Summer 2003) must take MATH 244 (4) instead
of MATH 242 (4) beginning Fall 2003. Although Math 242 will continue
to be offered at Cal Poly, it no longer has the course content required
for engineering students. A petition is not required.
-
Students following the 2003-2005 catalog may use MATH 242 (4) taken
prior to Fall 2003 for MATH 244 (4). A petition is not required.
